Finger Pointing to the Word Band-Aid and Telstra ranked as the top brands for Australia in 2018, based on Reader’s Digest and Brand Finance’s lists of the best companies for the year.

Australian Reader’s Digest named Band-Aid as the most trusted brand in the country. On the other hand, Brand Finance listed Telstra as the most valuable brand for the third consecutive year.

For Telstra, the telecommunications company’s focus on investing in its clients helped it to achieve a 13.6% increase in brand value to $12.4 billion over the previous year.

This occurred despite the brand’s lower market value, according to Mark Crowe, Managing Director of Brand Finance Australia. Commonwealth Bank and ANZ completed the top three most valuable brands in Australia. On a global scale, Amazon has outranked Apple and Google as the biggest brand with a value of more than $150 billion in 2017.

In terms of trust, the survey by Australian Reader’s Digest also showed that Coles ranked as the most trusted supermarket in the country. Bunnings gained the most trust among retail customers. The poll was based on more than 2,400 respondents.

For instance, Coles’ ranking likely helped it to record a $6.57 billion brand value for this year, according to Brand Finance’s list. The supermarket chain landed on the fifth spot among the most valuable brands in Australia.
